Interview with the director of sales Maximilian Tóth
Please introduce yourself briefly and tell us what makes your hotel or hosting role special.
My name is Maximilian Tóth and I am the Director of Sales & Marketing, as well as the link between the owners at Abasto Hotels. With the motto “Find you perfect Stay”, Abasto Hotels stands for what we do best: To be hosts!
Did you or how did you do revenue management before you switched to happyhotel?
Before the conversion to happyhotel took place, yield management was carried out in a rudimentary way.
What were the decision criteria for happyhotel?
For me, the look and feel was important. How easily and quickly I can integrate and control our houses to our PMS. Also, the direct personal contact and fast support!

I need less time for revenue management. I can plan my day much better because I don’t need hours to manage our properties. In terms of time, I spend an average of one hour per day on happyhotel. Spread over the day.
What is the best thing about happyhotel? Which feature do you feel saves you the most time?
Of course, the price proposals or prices accept or reject. Simply control everything with a mouse click based on my predefined strategy. As well as control individual periods separately.
What are your personal tips for future happyhotel users?
Embrace digitization and make use of it. The pandemic in particular has shown that you have to take a broader approach. No matter which segment. All of them are important and need to be addressed. Set your prices in advance and observe the market. In combination with happyhotel, you can then quickly and easily intervene in what’s happening and react or act in advance.
Digitization in the hotel industry – what should a hotelier start with?
A simple, customized PMS and a good revenue tool. That is already a good basis in terms of digitization. Then come the finer points, such as guest service tools, etc.
