Interview with Kevin Sibürge, Head of Revenue at the Brandenburger Tor Hotel
Please introduce yourself briefly and tell us what makes your hotel or hosting role special.
My name is Kevin Sibürge and I have been working in the revenue department for various companies in the hotel industry for 10 years.
Did you or how did you do revenue management before you switched to happyhotel?
In my many years of working in revenue, I have always worked with different RMSs. At Potsdamer Haus, this was previously not possible due to the PMS system. Before the PMS changeover, we still had to change rate categories manually from the PMS in the old way. By switching to happyhotel, we can work much faster, more efficiently and in more detail.
What were the decision criteria for happyhotel?
With the conversion of the PMS, it was clear from the outset that an RMS would also have to be connected. At ITB 2023, I was given a very good and professional presentation of the system and immediately got a good impression. After a few more appointments, I was convinced by the functionality, the user-friendly interface and the price-performance ratio. But the overall communication with the team, which is always open and helpful, also contributed to this decision.
What is the best thing about happyhotel?
Loading the rates and reacting quickly to market changes. The reporting is uncomplicated and provides the necessary reports.
Have you already made a recognizable additional turnover and if so, by what percentage have you been able to increase your turnover through happyhotel?
In the first few months, we have seen a significant increase in short-term bookings as a result of the adjustments. However, as we have only been live for a few months, we are not yet able to provide exact figures.
