Please introduce yourself briefly and tell us what makes your hotel or hosting role special.
My name is Claus Kuhnhardt and I am the owner and manager of the Waldhotel Eisenberg since 2009. We are a hotel with 38 rooms and are located in the Palatinate near the German Wine Route and directly on the Palatinate Forest. During the week we have many business travelers. On weekends, there are many short vacationers who want to come to the Palatinate. Furthermore, we have special offers for motorcyclists and fasting guests.

Did you or how did you do revenue management before you switched to happyhotel?
Before that, we only had Standard prices or we adjusted the prices seasonally.

What were the decision criteria for happyhotel?
The big advantage of happyhotel is that you can work with dynamic daily prices and thus always achieve the right price depending on market demand. Furthermore, we use the autopilot function, so that we have no effort with our pricing. I receive the report mail from happyhotel every morning and thus have an important overview of the KPIs directly. This saves me from manually exporting reports from the PMS. In addition, I save the manual adjustment of room prices.

Autopilot saves me time and makes me even more money. You can’t get that anywhere else.

Have you already made a recognizable additional turnover and if so, by what percentage have you been able to increase your turnover through happyhotel?
Compared to last year, we were able to increase our room turnover by 21%. Until now, we did not know that our guests would accept a higher price in case of high demand. Through happyhotel we have dared to take this step and have been rewarded.

What are your personal tips for future happyhotel users?
Through happyhotel you get an even better insight into your company. The clear reports have already enabled us to make some strategic and operational adjustments. For example, the market segment analysis has helped us to restructure our market segments.

What do you wish for the future of happyhotel?
I wish happyhotel will continue to develop helpful features for me as a hotelier.
