The POINT 7 Hotel is a small but fine owner-managed hotel in Fulda and has 28 rooms. With its four function rooms, the POINT 7 is a popular meeting point for successful conferences and events. The roof terrace with a view over the whole of Fulda is also very attractive.

The hotel is also in high demand among tourists due to its stylish and modern interior and proximity to the beautiful baroque city of Fulda.

Please introduce yourself briefly and tell us what makes your hotel or hosting role special.
My name is Ralf Krause, I am a youngtimer, married and have three children. Co-founder and CEO of the ADAPT Group. We currently operate in four destinations with just over 400 apartments and have three more locations with 220 apartments in the pipeline. From short to long stay – we can do it all. The guest decides. This is also our company philosophy – everything we have done so far and everything we still want to do, we have presented to potential guests and our regular guests to decide and vote. From location to service to equipment and design – our customers and guests have a say in everything. This also applies to the topic of sustainability, which is very important to us.

Did you or how did you do revenue management before you switched to happyhotel?
Yes, we already operated revenue management before the introduction of happyhotel. However, happyhotel has opened up completely new possibilities for me to check and adjust our prices. Especially in the business segment we were able to increase our revenue significantly. It happens more often that we sell our rooms for 200 € at the weekend. In the past, we would have considered this impossible, but happyhotel has given us the courage to take this step. Already with one room sale of this kind, we have recovered the monthly costs for happyhotel. That is HUGE!

What were the decision criteria for happyhotel?
The decisive point was a recommendation from Andreas Rhein, who advises our management. However, we employees were also quickly enthusiastic about happyhotel thanks to the huge added value. In the meantime, I enjoy happyhotel so much that I often find myself accepting your price suggestions after work. Your tool is also a bit addictive! 😀

How does happyhotel make your everyday life easier?
I find the pick-up calendar very cool. It saves me a lot of time and I can see directly at a glance at which period new bookings have been received. I also use the analysis area occasionally. Previously, we had no way to view our key figures so clearly and on a daily basis. However, since we have only been working with happyhotel for 4 months and our hotel is still very new, we do not yet have so many comparative values available.

What does the dynamic pricing process look like NOW for you guys?
First, we tried a more conversational pricing strategy to familiarize ourselves with happyhotel and see how our customers reacted to it. In this way, we approached higher prices step by step. Generally, we receive a lot of bookings at very short notice, which makes planning difficult to a certain extent. Through happyhotel, however, prices can be adjusted very quickly to the changed demand. Currently, we still accept the prices manually. In the future, however, we plan to leave this task to the autopilot.

Have you already made recognizable additional sales and if so, by what percentage have you been able to increase your sales through happyhotel? (Estimate)
Unfortunately, I can’t give any exact information on this. Our hotel opened in the middle of the Corona period. Accordingly, the figures were “distorted” from the beginning. In any case, I can say that the turnover has improved noticeably since the introduction of happyhotel. I would even talk about an increase in turnover of between 30% and 40%.

What do you wish for the future of happyhotel?
Actually nothing specific. Maybe in the future it would be cool to receive notifications within happyhotel. So especially when the program detects optimization possibilities somewhere and thereby gives concrete recommendations for action.
